Fall news from Plant's Power

What we've been up to (summer 2018)

In June, the Plant’s Power team attended the 2018 HSCG Soapmakers conference in Toronto. It was a great way for us to get to know the soapmaking industry better and network with soap makers.

What we're up to now

We are also really excited to be attending the IFEAT Flavour and Fragrance symposium in September in Cartagena, Colombia. Drop us a line if you will be there yourselves, we would love to connect in person!

Summer Harvest season is wrapping up but the Fall manufacturing rush is in full swing and everyone is very busy working to get products on the shelves for fall and ready for Christmas. Yes, NOW is the time to finish getting all the supplies needed to be ready for the up coming holiday season. Most manufacturers are well on there way in their production since it's best to be overly prepared for the biggest rush of the year rather than falling behind, leaving unhappy waiting customers.

Oil of the month

Citronella Essential Oil

Summer may be coming to an end, but the luring scent of freshness is here to stay.

An aromatic grass native to Sri Lanka, citronella grows up to 1 meter (3 feet) in height. Plant’s Power carries citronella essential oil from Java, which has a well-rounded, lemon-like odour. Our oil is perfect for blending with citrus oils, lavender, or pine. It works well in all-purpose household cleaners, detergents, refreshing and uplifting soaps, shampoos, candles, and lotions.

Although citronella is known to be used in insect-repelling products, the essential oil also has antimicrobial, antiseptic, and relaxant properties. It can help reduce fatigue, headaches, and colds and is therefore a perfect addition to fall and winter formulations.

Citronella may cause skin irritation and allergic reactions in some individuals therefore a dilution in carrier oil is recommended.
