Description: Rosa damascena is a deciduous shrub with fragrant, pink flowers.
Characteristics: Rose oil is a light yellowish liquid with a strong floral aroma with sweet notes reminiscent of roses.
Properties: Anti-inflammatory, antiviral and anti-microbial
Constituents: Phenethyl alcohol, citronellol, geraniol, eugenol, stearoptene.
Uses: Traditionally, Rose Absolute has calming and uplifting properties used to treat depression, anxiety, frigidity and stress. As well as its cooling and soothing properties making it excellent for aiding in dry, hot, inflamed, or itchy skin.
Blends well with: Bergamot and most citrus oils, Black pepper, Cedarwood, Roman Chamomile, Clary Sage, Galbanum, Geranium, Helichrysum, Jasmine, Lavender, Neroli, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang.
Interesting Facts: Roses are associated with the goddess Venus, as well as a symbol of resurrection. Romans associate roses with romance and happiness, crowning marital partners with rose wreaths, and scattering them at the feet of heroes.
